China’s total output of crude steel may trend stable in May

According to the statistic from the Chinese government, the total output of crude steel in March of China was around 79 million tons, decreased by 1.7% year on year; iron ore’s total output was around 67 million tons, increased by 1.1% year on year; steel products’ total output was around 99 million tons, decreased by 0.1% year on year.

The main reason for the decline was caused by the COVID-19 expansion, and more and more steel mills were just started to re-operating in March.

Moreover, the market expected the total output of crude steel might further increase in April and would reach 81 million tons, but the increasing speed might start to slow in May.
